Our experience in the nuclear industry spans half a century, from the UK’s original fleet of power stations through 25 years continual presence at Sellafield to today’s new generation of reactors.

We have a full design & build civil engineering and building capability and offer a range of specialised services encompassing the entire lifecycle of nuclear facilities from conception to life extension, refurbishment and decommissioning.

With a long history of working within operational nuclear sites and other highly regulated environments we have processes in place to meet the exacting safety, security compliance and quality standards required.

Our nuclear design consultancy comprises more than 60 technical and support staff. We employ a wide range of Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel [SQEP] and have strong established relationships with a highly skilled supply chain.

We also have a large and experienced temporary works division which liaises closely with our site engineers, ensuring an in-depth understanding of each project.

This unique design and construction capability combined with our depth of experience allows us to provide an exceptional consultancy, technical solutions, materials analysis and constructability service.

Currently providing civil design services for auxiliary buildings at the Flamanville 3 EPR in France and the Taishan EPR nuclear plants in China, our record includes the entire civil and structural and architectural design of 13 and the complete construction of six of the UK’s nuclear power stations.

In recent years our activities have been concentrated at Sellafield and on assisting British Energy with life extension of its AGR fleet. We provide direct support to British Energy’s Projects Division, a role which has seen us designing facilities including the turbine hall basement fire/flood walls at Hartlepool and Heysham 1.

We also provide technical support to the Nuclear Directorate of the Health and Safety Executive.
