General Information
The company was appointed to design, manage, construct, install, test and commission the civil and building works for the 34 megawatt Severnside Energy Recovery Centre (SERC) in South Gloucestershire.
The work includes demolition, all site infrastructure, buildings, roads, services, offices, amenities, workshops, stores, equipment, landscaping, security and all associated amenities and facilities.

Our team has worked closely with the Environment Agency (EA) to ensure our activities don’t impact on water quality in the nearby Severn Estuary which is SPA, RAMSAR, SAC and SSSI designated.
With no available sewer and little space for water attenuation and storage, a comprehensive water management strategy has been developed to accommodate the significant dewatering required during construction.
Water quality is regularly checked to ensure it complies with the EA’s discharge consent.
The plant is one of two energy from waste facilities currently under construction by the company for Hitachi Zosen Inova, the other being at Calvert in Buckinghamshire.
