The new Marie Curie Hospice at Glasgow’s Stobhill Hospital is one of the most modern facilities of its kind in Europe.
General Information
The Marie Curie hospice will provide patients and their families with the best in 21st century palliative care.
Spread over several levels, patient accommodation is housed in a single-storey wing running along the upper contours of the site. This links to an office and day care building via a main reception.
The hospice’s 21 single and three shared bedrooms all have en suite facilities and easy outside access. Many also benefit from views of the Campsie Fells to the north.

Constructed on a steeply sloping site, internal retaining walls allow the building to step up from ground to first and second floor levels.
Changing the specification of these walls from standard mix to waterproof concrete allowed the works to continue regardless of weather conditions.
