General Information

The expansion and refit of Fenwick department store in London’s Mayfair provides new retail space and offices in one of the capital’s most exclusive shopping destinations.

Constructed to the rear of the existing store, a five-storey extension houses additional shop floor space, two restaurants and administrative areas. A separate office block provides five floors of lettable Category A offices and ground floor retail.

In addition to the fit-out of the new areas, the project included the refurbishment of existing retail areas and upgrading of services.

Our project team worked on the design development of many of the store’s new shop fittings, including dress racks, floor to ceiling shoe displays and mobile illuminated tables.

The multiple phasing of the project meant the upgrading of the building’s services was undertaken section by section before being reintegrated. This meant ensuring all required services were kept live and that any new systems were up and running in time for trading to begin each morning.

In addition to the original contract for the store extension and office block, we were awarded the fit-out work, our client seeing this as the best way to minimise the impact on trading.
