General Information

We have provided three new schools at Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath and Anstruther as part of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project.

Incorporating sports halls and all-weather pitches, the schools accommodate 3,000 secondary pupils and 360 younger children within 40,000m2 of teaching space.

The schools were constructed under a fast track programme on land adjacent to existing premises, minimising disruption to pupils’ education and day-to-day activities.

At Beath High School in Cowdenbeath we promoted a new-build scheme as an alternative to the proposed refurbishment of the existing facilities.

To minimise pupils’ movement between lessons, the locations and relationships between departments were taken into consideration during the design of the three-storey teaching blocks.

At Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline all teaching blocks are east/west facing to provide a light and airy teaching environment relatively free from the influence of solar heat and glare. External landscaped courtyards contribute light into the heart of the school and provide additional teaching and social spaces.
